Henrietta Mayfield Johnson

 

1921 – 1995

Mrs. Henrietta Mayfield Johnson was born November 9, 1921 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to the late Henry and Ella Mayfield passed away Wednesday October 25, 1995 at the St. Lukes Hospital in Cleveland, OH. She was the oldest of six children, five brothers two of whom proceeded her in death.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Troy, MS. She also held membership at St. Paul M.B. Church in Racine, WI for twenty-five years, and she was a faithful member of Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Cleveland, OH, until her death. She attended Okolona Industrial School and Taught school at Prairie Mount Rural School for one year.

On January 23, 1944 she was united in hold matrimony to Eugene Johnson. To the union four children were born: she is proceeded in death by one daughter. She leaves to cherish her memory: one daughter, Ella Mae Johnson of Cleveland, OH; two sons: Fredrick Henry Johnson(Theresa) of Waukegon, IL; and Michael Aaron Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; one granddaughter, Brianna Johnson of Phoenix, AZ; one aunt” Amy Mayfield of Grand Rapids, MI; three brothers: Lee Raymond Mayfield (Alice) of Okolona, MS; Arzell Mayfield (Luray) of Detroit, MS; and Dudley Mayfield (Vernell) of Houston, MS; and a host of nieces, cousins and friends.The services were held bu Carter’s Funeral Home located in Okolona, MS. Pallbearers, Ushers and Flower Bearers were friends of the family. The eulogy was read by Rev. L.C. Cooks.
